Downtown has stricter rules
Flowery Branch opened the first phase of its downtown redevelopment in 2023. Signs in the historic district need a Certificate of Appropriateness, and the city's downtown sign rules don't allow internally lit or neon signs, plastic or plywood. For a Main Street shop, we design signs in materials that pass review, like painted or carved panels and dimensional letters.
Out by I-985 and along Spout Springs Road, the newer retail centers have more room for monument and building signs.
Lake communities and new neighborhoods
Sterling on the Lake, a 1,000-acre community with an active-adult section, is one of the large neighborhoods near the lake. We make entrance monuments, street signs and community boards, plus builder and real estate signs for the new homes going up.
Sign permits in Flowery Branch
Sign permits go through Planning and Community Development. Find the forms on the city's forms page. The application asks for a colored, scaled drawing, a site plan, a mounting detail and the sign company's business license. Monument signs also need engineer-sealed plans with a footing detail and a notarized owner signature.
