Signs for Buford, the Leather City

Peachtree Industrial Boulevard starts near our shop and ends in Buford. We make signs for Buford's historic Main Street, the Mall of Georgia area and everything in between.

Main Street to the Mall of Georgia

Buford got its Leather City nickname from the Bona Allen tannery and saddle works, and historic Main Street and Tannery Row still carry that history. Out on Buford Drive, the Mall of Georgia, at about 1.85 million square feet, anchors the area's biggest retail corridor. Those are very different spots for a storefront sign, and we design for each one.

Buford's monument-sign rules

Ground signs between 6 and 200 square feet must be monument signs with a brick, stucco or rock base, and they have to show the street address. Window signs can cover no more than 15% of a window, and A-frame and portable signs aren't allowed.

In the Mall of Georgia overlay along SR 20, signs must be monuments with brick, stone or stucco bases, and temporary signs other than real estate signs are banned.

Sign permits in Buford

Sign and banner permits are issued by the Planning Director, with separate applications for each. Banners can be up to 32 square feet, two per lot, each with its own permit. Grand-opening displays are allowed from 5 days before to 30 days after you open, a good time for banners and promotional signs. Some addresses near the mall are in unincorporated Gwinnett, where the county issues permits.
