Signs for Lawrenceville, from the square to SouthLawn

Lawrenceville is the Gwinnett County seat, at the far end of State Route 120 from our shop. We make signs for downtown shops, offices near the courthouse and new businesses along the College Corridor.

Downtown has its own rules

The historic courthouse square is a Main Street America community. Projecting signs in the nine blocks around it can stick out no more than 24 inches and need Architectural Review Board approval. Sandwich boards are only allowed in the Downtown Entertainment District, and citywide design standards call for shielded sign lighting.

That makes dimensional letters, blade signs and awnings a good fit downtown.

New construction south of the square

SouthLawn, a roughly $200 million mixed-use project just south of the square, is adding about 600 homes plus retail. The College Corridor links downtown to Georgia Gwinnett College. New tenants need storefront signs, and builders and agents need post and panel and community signs while homes sell.

Sign permits in Lawrenceville

Sign permits go through the city's Planning and Development department, online through the city's permit portal. Ground signs top out at 12 feet and need a brick or stone base that matches the building. Banners need a 14-day permit, with up to four a year per business, which makes them a natural fit for events and openings. See our banners.
