Signs that fit Milton's rural character

Milton has some of the most detailed sign rules in North Fulton. We make signs that suit Crabapple, Deerfield and the horse-farm roads in between, built to the city's code.

Decorative subdivision post and panel sign

Built for Crabapple and Deerfield

Most of Milton's businesses sit in a few places: the historic Crabapple crossroads, the Deerfield area near GA 400 and the State Route 9 corridor. Crabapple and Deerfield each have their own form-based code, and new site and building designs go through the city's Design Review Board. A sign that works in a strip center elsewhere may not fit here.

For a shop or office, that usually means dimensional letters or a monument sign designed around the building, using materials that look at home next to the antique shops and farm fences.

Subdivision entrances under the 2024 code

Milton's Unified Development Code, adopted in April 2024, says subdivision entrance signs should be shingle style or mounted in or on a pillar no more than 8 feet tall. That suits stacked-stone pillars, sandblasted panels and hanging wood signs, the same kinds of entrance and street signs we build.

Agents and builders working Milton's large-lot properties can also get post and panel and builder signs from us.

Sign permits in Milton

Sign and banner permits go through the Zoning division of Community Development, using the city's online permit portal. Neon, animated and roof signs are prohibited, along with sandwich boards and signs in the right-of-way. Banners need their own permit.
