Signs for Cumming and Forsyth County

Most people with a Cumming address live outside the actual city limits. We make signs for both, from Cumming City Center to the shops along GA 400.

Two permit offices, one mailing address

The City of Cumming is Forsyth County's only city, and it's small: about 7,300 residents in 2020. Inside city limits, sign permits go through the city's Planning and Zoning department and need a survey, a separate electrical permit and footing, sign and electrical inspections. Everywhere else with a Cumming address, Forsyth County runs sign design review.

Along parts of GA 400, the county's North GA 400 Overlay encourages channel letters, bans single plastic-panel faces, and requires brick or stone around at least half of a monument sign's face. That's what we design for when we quote a storefront or monument sign on that corridor.

City Center, The Collection and Vickery

Cumming City Center, about 75 acres between Canton Highway and Sawnee Drive, opened with main-street-style shops, and The Collection at Forsyth sits at GA 400 Exit 13. In parts of southeast Forsyth, subdivision entrance monuments must use full-depth brick or natural stone, with no wood supports or internal lighting. That's how we build HOA entrance signs there.

Banners in Forsyth County

In unincorporated Forsyth County, banners are limited to 10 days in a row with four months between permits, and they aren't allowed in the North GA 400 Overlay. For a grand opening, plan a banner alongside a permanent sign that's already approved.
